We are grateful the Venice Neighborhood Council will be hearing a motion to voice the concerns of Venetians as the Venice Dell Project is being pushed forward at Coastal Commission next month without first allowing the City to follow its required procedures to go to the City’s Transportation Commission and City Council where new plans for the project and a study with the risks of the project can be shared.
This is necessary after new substantially changed project plans by a new architect were submitted to Coastal but were never approved by City Council and have not been seen by the public.

The Coastal Commission appears to be under pressure from the developers’ attorney to rush this through by the end of the year. We are quite familiar with the strong arm of the developers’ “pro bono attorney”, making it impossible for a small community organization to seek justice in court. We now look to our City Councilwoman, Traci Park, to stand up for us and get this nightmare of a project back to City Council for full scrutiny:

For those who have shown concern over this costly boondoggle of a project, it is critically important for you to attend the meeting, where you’ll be able to comment or simply submit your support of the VNC’s motion to not let this project go before Coastal Commission in December, before all of the City issues are addressed.
A simple comment of “I support this motion- no Coastal Commission hearing should happen in December” (with elaboration welcome up to 1 minute but not necessary) is all that’s needed. Or as an alternative, you can fill out a card when you arrive and submit your support for the motion without commenting.
