The Miracle on the Median – an ode to time and money well spent:
As the year wraps up…
The Venice Dell project is still dead, while visions of resurrection dance in the DSA’s head.
Mike Bonin tried his best to destroy our small beach town,
but we all came together to take The Monster down.
Through Fight Back Venice first, and then our Coalition,
we plowed through laws and records, laser focused on our mission.
The grift had to be called out, so much was wrong.
As a community we spoke up and together stood strong.
A recall was needed; Bonin had to depart.
In Traci Park we found a new councilwoman, responsive, empathetic and smart.
And then there was you- ever faithful to our call:
last-minute emails to Council, and trips to City Hall.
With the pressure of legal fees, your support has meant more than you’ve known-
every donation confirming we aren’t in this alone.
To the many who’ve given to pay what we owe, thank you- you’re great!
If you’ve meant to pitch in but haven’t yet- now’s the time to step up to the plate.
Our lawyers stood by us, never defeated.
It’s time they are paid for their hard work completed.
We’ve made a good dent, and though our payment is late,
with your money now we can help set it straight.
If we’re threatened again by those who won’t quit,
we’ll need our legal team with us to cut through their bullshit.
We couldn’t have done this without them, we can’t just walk away.
