Transportation Commission voted unanimously to approve the recommendations by the DOT staff!
Now it’s time to passionately lobby Coastal to let the city make its decisions.
It’s time to request a Speaker Card for tomorrow’s December 11th Coastal Commission hearing!
IT IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED YOU DO THIS BY 5 PM TODAY/TUESDAY TO ASSURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SPEAK (as we expect the proponents for the project to be requesting to speak in droves). However, if you are going to be at the hearing in person, you can also submit a speaker card at the hearing location, but it must be before the start of the hearing.
REQUEST SPEAKER CARD:
To speak at the hearing you fill out a “speaker card” here (whether in person or via zoom, get a speaker card this way, but can also fill out a card at the site in person) :

Detailed instructions for those of you who have never requested a “Speaker Card” for Coastal before:
- Enter Your Email Address
- Enter Your Name
- Will you need assistance with interpretation from Spanish to English?
- Enter Phone number
- How you will be participating (zoom on computer, zoom on cell phone, OR attending in person).
- Select “A specific agendized item”
- Enter Next (scroll up to top of next page)
- In drop down menu, choose agenda item no. 11a (or because Items W11a, W12a, and W14a share a combined hearing, you can choose any one of them)
- Choose 4. “I am the appellant” if you filed an appeal in August 2022. If not, choose 9. “I am an interested member of the public.
- For whether there is more than one person speaking along with you, choose No. (It could go either way but technically it’s no.)
- Select “I wish to speak”
- Select “I oppose the staff recommendation”
- Enter Next (scroll up to top of next page)
- For Visual Aid select No (unless you have one!)
- Select Next
- For campaign contribution, select No (unless you made one!)
- Enter Submit
- You will get your remote testimony request form. Note the url for the zoom. You should also get an email for the url for the zoom. Be sure you keep that email (if you don’t see it, check your spam/junk folder), as you will need that zoom url to log on to the meeting. You cannot use the streaming url on the website, as that is only for people observing and not participating.
FOR THOSE OF YOU SPEAKING ON ZOOM:
On Wednesday at approximately 10 am, go to the zoom link they email you after you register to sign onto the meeting (Join at 9 am if you want to watch the first hour of the meeting with General Public Comment and various reports). Do not sign in using the “Cal-Span” Live Stream link as that is for watching/listening only. Do not use any other link besides the one they email you after you submit your speaker card.
Once on the zoom meeting, you can “raise hand” when it’s time for the Venice Dell agenda item public comment. When they send a prompt to unmute select that, and we recommend you also turn on your camera (bottom left).

We suggest you be there by 9 am as traffic can be unpredictable.
There is plenty of parking.
You’ll get you there by 9 am, if you leave by approximately 7:45 am.
